Halloumi or halloumi is a semi-hard, unripened, brined cheese made from a mixture of goat’s and sheep’s milk, and sometimes also cow’s milk. It has a high melting point and so can easily be fried or grilled.
Grilling Recommendation: Make 1/4 or little more than 1/4-inch slices. Let Halloumi slices sit in warm water for about 30 minutes. Rinse and dry with a paper towel. Grill them on a nonstick pan with half a spoon butter. Turn sides when grilling to get perfect brown. Best when consumed warm. It can be grilled on a nonstick pan without butter if you are concerned about butter.
